SOLUTIONS PARTNER

One-stop shopping at BURG

At BURG you get everything from a single source. Starting with the development and design to the construction of prototypes and tools right through to series production. The BURG service portfolio is completed by 5-axis CNC machining, a wide range of finishing processes, qualified assembly of complete assemblies as well as a comprehensive after-sales service.

As a special service, we also offer various engineering packages. This allows us to accompany you from an early stage in the development and manufacture of an item. By integrating our experience and expertise into the early phase of a project, you benefit from shorter lead times and reduced production costs. This results in an item that can be manufactured economically and quickly, and BURG benefits from the increased customer satisfaction.

Development and design

We develop the optimum solution based on your requirements. With the help of our CAD system, SolidWorks, and CAM system, Tebis, we generate all the production data required for manufacturing.

Material

Our sheet material is available in different surface designs and individual colours. Standard plastics such as ABS, PS, PE and PP – with electrically conductive and flame retardant modifications, too. Engineering plastics such as PC, PETA, PETG, PCABS blends, PPSU and ESD material – specialised for flame-retardant application and in compliance with EN 45545 for rail transport. PLA materials, bioplastics and 100% recyclable plastics complete our range.

Tool and mould-making

From your data, we manufacture the mould for vacuum thermoforming as well as the fixtures for further processing on our 5-axis CNC machining centres. We generate the necessary CAD data and 2D drawings at short notice. We use synthetic resin, wood or aluminium to manufacture the moulds and fixtures.

Deep drawing/thermoforming

BURG has one of the most modern machine parks. The average age of the GEISS T10 all-electric thermoforming machines is 3 to 4 years. The sheet feed (max. forming area 3500 x 2300 mm, max. thermoforming height up to 1200 mm) is fully automated. We also have two HAMER and ILLIG automatic thermoforming machines for rolled goods (material thickness of 0.3 to 3.0 mm).

CNC machining

The CNC machining of the thermoformed components (3000 x 1800 x 560 mm) is carried out on state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machining centres. For larger series production, two tandem systems with tool change systems are used. The milling centres are programmed using a modern CAM workstation with online data record management.

Die cutting

Our die-cutting technology allows us to process thermoformed components quickly, precisely and without burrs – from small-scale to mass production. The result: efficient, cost-optimised and sustainable implementation.

Finishing

We are proficient in a wide variety of finishing processes. These include the printing of components by screen printing, pad printing or transfer printing, the application of metallic surfaces by electroplating or high-vacuum vapour deposition, the incorporation of thread inserts by hot mounting as well as insert moulding for complex components. The application of lettering or logos by hot stamping is also included in our portfolio.
